The Athens Rifle Club has a clubhouse,
two skeet fields, one trap field, a 50-yard pistol range with
covered shooting positions, and a 100-yard rifle range with covered shooting
positions.
The Club is located off U.S. 441 on Paradise Valley Road, approximately 1.6
miles north of the
Athens Bypass. It is affiliated with the Georgia Sport Shooting Association and
the National Rifle
Association.
Membership is by invitation of a current member. Prospective members must
present themselves at
a monthly Club meeting held at 8:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month.
Applicants must
qualify on each range in the company of a member, demonstrate safe gun handling,
and attend an
additional meeting prior to a vote on their acceptance. Annual dues are $100.00
with an initiation
fee of $75.00.
